Here’s what you can expect from our first few meetings:
-
Meeting 1 – 45 minutes to an hour and a half
During this no-obligation meeting, we focus on you, and what’s important to you. We want to know the experiences you might have had up to this point with Financial Planning/Advising and about what you like and don’t like about your current position. We begin with a series of 10 questions so that we can earn more about you and your goals and wishes in life. This session is for each of us to see if there is a good rapport and if we will be an efficient and respectful team. Usually this initial meeting is conducted by Barb but may also involve Harper. Our focus is to learn enough so that we can give you a reasonable course of action. Our recommendation may be to begin with planning and then depending on the outcome, move to implementation OR, we may feel that planning isn’t necessary as yet, or we may find that some coaching is the best pace to start. We will email our recommended course of action, along with whatever documentation will be required for the next steps. We will outline the process and any fees that may be involved. It is at this point that you will decide if we are the right fit for you.
-
Meeting 2 – 1-2 hours
This meeting will expand our relationship through time spent getting to know you and your current situation better. During this time we will review the data you have provided for verification, and you will provide us with anything that may be missing so that we can provide as accurate an analyses as possible. Every part of our process adds to our knowledge of what is important to you in more depth.
-
Meeting 3 – 2 hours
Between meetings it is our job to carefully review your current situation, and to map it out so that you can see what the future will look like if you continue on your given path. Once that is accomplished, if we find there are areas that need improvement, we will determine which strategies and solutions will put you in a stronger financial position without the need for you to compromise your lifestyle along the way.
The purpose of the third meeting is for us to review our findings with you and to outline a proposal for your consideration. Should you agree to our proposal, we will set out to implement the plan either at this meeting or a meeting specifically designed for this purpose.
Review
No matter what we may do together – we want to stay in touch with you. Rarely is anything financial, of value if it isn’t monitored from time to time. We consider you to be a partner with us and want you to be aware of tax and industry changes that might alter your position. We feel that is our duty and responsibility – also should you find your self in a difficult time in your life, you may find we are able to assist in ways you may not have known about.
This is a desirable option for our Coaching clients as well, to make sure that you and your money are happy together.
